Particular Dreams

Do dreams have any particular meaning or are they just random visions that our brain expels throughout our sleep? Dreams are a proven method for the brain to register events, thoughts, and experiences that it has had during the waking hours. Without dreams our brain will actually short circuit and we will struggle to maintain our level of functionality. Many people believe that dreams have hidden meanings and that they can be interpreted. Unless we are reliving a trauma during our sleep our dreams are rarely straightforward. We see things that don’t make any sense and we connect one event to another in a seemingly random fashion when we dream.

The analysis of dreams is not altogether a science but it isn’t a hoax either. There have been studies on sleep patterns and dream patterns that can help indicate what you might not be able to uncover during your waking hours. In most cases, dreams mean very little even if they are disturbing. You can have sexual dreams about people that you are not the least bit interested, those that do not meet the appropriate age requirements, or those that do not meet with your gender identification and it doesn’t mean that you are sexually defective. It simply means your brain is processing something about your own sexuality and your circumstances. Dream interpretation runs along the lines of many venues, including the psychological study of post traumatic recovery. Having your dreams analyzed can be fun, but it is not bound to be correct unless it is done by a professional with a medical degree.
